  23. Locking the DTE at 57600 will not solve the problem.... I can lock DTE at 115200, 
  24. and my modem will still connect at whatever speed it negotiates.  This is called 
  25. "speed buffering," and it allows the data to flow faster to the modem to keep it fed 
  26. in the event that the data compression is effective.

  28. You need to use the AT command for your modem to force a particular speed, ot the 
  29. command to turn off v.32bis (14.4)
